
Bodycam Footage Reveals Tragic End to Diner Larceny Investigation
A tragic incident unfolded in East Hartford, Connecticut, on June 3, 2025, when a 17-year-old boy died after shooting himself while fleeing from police. The incident began with a report of larceny at the Triple-A Diner on Main Street. According to police reports, four individuals left the diner without paying a bill of approximately $115. Officers stopped their Uber on Orchard Street. The 17-year-old from Hartford then fled on foot. An officer pursued him, and shortly after, a gunshot was heard. The teen was found with a gunshot wound to his right leg, believed to be self-inflicted. Despite undergoing surgery, he succumbed to his injuries. The police bodycam footage released by WFSB Eyewitness News provides a visual account of the events leading up to the shooting. One officer stated, "We deal with this a lot over there."
