Tabung Haji Bolsters Hajj Preparations Amidst Expected Heatwave in Arafah Mecca, Saudi Arabia – With the Day of Arafah approaching, Tabung Haji, Malaysia's pilgrimage fund, has significantly increased its preparations to ensure the safety and comfort of Malaysian pilgrims. The preparations focus on mitigating the effects of the anticipated extreme heat. "We've added more air conditioners and healthcare facilities to each tent," stated Mohd Hisham Harun, Head of the Malaysian Hajj Delegation. This proactive measure addresses concerns about heatstroke and dehydration among pilgrims. The video shows additional air conditioning units being installed in the tents and provides a glimpse of the clinics set up within the tent compounds. Dr. Hairul Izwan, Deputy Head of the Tabung Haji Medical Team, emphasized that these clinics are larger and more equipped than in previous years. He also highlighted the availability of ambulances for immediate transport to nearby hospitals. The report also notes that 62 pilgrims have received treatment, with 57 at the Tabung Haji treatment center and 5 in Saudi Arabian hospitals. The most common ailments are respiratory issues and stomach problems, likely related to the heat. The preparations underscore Tabung Haji's commitment to pilgrim well-being, offering a reassuring message amidst the challenges of the hot climate.
