Malaysian Police Bust Multi-Million Ringgit Vape Drug Lab
Kuala Lumpur Police Uncover Major Vape Drug Ring, Arrest Two Taiwanese Nationals Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – In a significant crackdown on illegal drug activity, Malaysian police have uncovered a sophisticated vape liquid processing laboratory operating in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur. The operation, which resulted in the arrest of two Taiwanese nationals, highlights the transnational nature of the drug trade and the increasing use of social media to target young people. On Wednesday, May 28th, authorities raided a luxury condominium in Brickfields, seizing 88.2 liters of liquid containing amphetamine, valued at RM3.29 million. Also confiscated were various processing tools and equipment. Deputy Commissioner Mat Zani Che Ali, the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department's acting director, stated at a press conference that the syndicate had been operating since 2024. "This is the first time we've encountered a drug operation of this scale involving foreign nationals targeting international markets," he said. The suspects are known to frequently change locations and personnel to evade detection. One of the suspects was also on Taiwan's wanted list for murder, illegal firearm possession, and drug trafficking. Police are working closely with Taiwanese authorities to track down the remaining members of the syndicate, believed to be based in Taiwan. The successful raid sends a strong message about the commitment to combating drug trafficking. The collaboration between Malaysian and Taiwanese law enforcement demonstrates the importance of international cooperation in tackling such crimes.
