Malaysia Allows Continued LPG Subsidized Cylinder Deliveries
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – May 30, 2025 – In a significant announcement impacting businesses and consumers across Malaysia, the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has confirmed that LPG suppliers will be permitted to continue delivering subsidized gas cylinders to their existing customers. This includes food and beverage vendors, even in the absence of the mandatory Scheduled Controlled Goods Permit (PBKB). Datuk Azman Adam, the KPDN's Director-General of Enforcement, stated, "This measure ensures the continued supply of essential goods to those who need them most." The decision is temporary, lasting until October 31, 2025, and aligns with the government's initiative to improve subsidy distribution efficiency under OPS GASAK. However, businesses using more than 42 kilograms of LPG are urged to apply for the necessary PBKB permit. This approach aims to provide support to small businesses while preventing misuse of the subsidy program. The government's proactive approach to managing LPG subsidies ensures that essential goods remain accessible to the public.
