RM20 Million Boost for Sabah and Sarawak Rural Centers
Malaysia's Rural Development Ministry allocates RM20 million to upgrade community centers in Sabah and Sarawak. The initiative aims to boost rural economies and empower local entrepreneurs. Minister Datuk Iwan Benedict stated that this year's allocation will allow for the construction and improvement of numerous rural community centers, expanding on the 98 facilities upgraded last year. The RM20 million includes a previous RM10 million allocation announced by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. "This is part of our commitment to inclusive development," said Benedict, highlighting the government's focus on rural communities. The cost of each project varies depending on location and scope, as determined by local authorities. The program underscores the government's dedication to improving rural infrastructure and supporting local businesses.
