Chicago Police Search for Hit-and-Run Driver After Man Critically Injured in Loop A 66-year-old man is fighting for his life after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Chicago's Loop Friday night. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. near Monroe and Michigan Avenue. According to Chicago Police, the victim was attempting to catch one of his service dogs that had gotten loose when he was hit by a vehicle that immediately sped away. "Traffic stops in the middle and right lanes," described one eyewitness, "This guy is pulling a second dog, obviously looking for the first dog, he's running out into the street, he's trying to find his dog. The first car stopped, gets out into the third lane and gets hit by this white sedan." The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Police are currently investigating the incident and asking anyone with information to come forward. The search for the driver is ongoing.
