Western Sydney Airport: A 24/7 Hub Ready to Take Off
Western Sydney's new International Airport is set to open in late 2026, promising a 24-hour operation and a significant boost to the region's economy. The $5 billion terminal, unveiled recently, boasts a modern design incorporating 9000 solar panels and state-of-the-art baggage handling. Unlike Sydney's Kingsford Smith Airport, it will operate around the clock, thanks to strict noise mitigation measures. Transport Minister Catherine King stated, "I've imposed additional conditions that will reduce aircraft noise." The airport is designed to accommodate 5 million passengers annually, creating jobs and improving connectivity for Western Sydney. Trial flights are expected to commence shortly, marking a significant step towards the airport's official launch.
