Malaysia Braces for Holiday Traffic Surge
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – June 5, 2025 – Malaysian authorities are anticipating a significant increase in traffic volume nationwide due to the ongoing school holidays and upcoming festive season. This prediction is supported by a recent video report from Berita RTM, which shows congested highways and interviews an official from the LLM Bangi traffic control center. "Based on our monitoring, we've seen a rise in highway users beginning their journeys home," stated Danish Ikram, Assistant Director of Operations Monitoring at LLM. He further advised drivers to "take sufficient rest before embarking on their journeys" and highlighted the activation of 30 smart lanes to facilitate smoother traffic flow. The video footage shows heavy traffic on major highways, particularly heading north and south. Authorities are working to manage the increased volume and ensure safe travel for all.
