Malaysia's Water Infrastructure Upgrade: 7 Key Projects to be Completed This Year
Malaysia's Petra Project: 7 Water Supply Projects Set for Completion This Year Malaysia is making strides in improving its water infrastructure. The Petra agency is currently monitoring 28 water supply projects nationwide, with seven expected to be completed by the end of 2025. These projects are strategically located across the country, including Perlis, Sarawak, Terengganu, Pahang, and Sabah. The focus is on replacing aging pipelines and improving water management efficiency. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, in an interview featured in the RTM report, stated, "What I want to focus on now is finding solutions so that if we can solve the problem of replacing pipes throughout our country, we can save 40 percent on water loss." This indicates a strong commitment to addressing water scarcity and improving the efficiency of water distribution. The completion of these projects will not only improve access to clean water for many Malaysians but also contribute to significant cost savings for the government. This initiative showcases Malaysia's dedication to sustainable water management and infrastructure development.
