Arajet Launches New Route Between Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – Arajet, the Dominican airline, has launched a new route connecting the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. The inaugural flight departed from Las Américas International Airport (SDQ) at 12:20 pm on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, and arrived at Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) in San Juan 40 minutes later. The new route marks a significant step in improving air connectivity and promoting tourism between the two Caribbean nations. David Collado, the Dominican Minister of Tourism, was present at the departure ceremony and expressed his enthusiasm for the new service. "This is a great step forward," Collado stated, "connecting our people and boosting tourism." The airline's executives and Puerto Rican Governor Jennifer González also highlighted the positive impact this new route will have on both economies. Arajet plans to offer four weekly flights between the two destinations, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The airline is also planning to expand its services to New York City on June 16th, further strengthening its presence in the United States and catering to the large Dominican diaspora. The affordable fares offered by Arajet are expected to increase tourism and create more travel options for passengers.
