Torremolinos, Spain – In a heartwarming event that drew a large crowd, two loggerhead sea turtles, Paloma and Gloria, were released back into the Mediterranean Sea today. The turtles, who had been receiving treatment for several months at the Centro de Gestión del Medio Marino (Center for Marine Environment Management), were carefully released into the water at Playamar beach. The successful rehabilitation and release were a collaborative effort between the Junta de Andalucía, Selwo Marina in Benalmádena, and Seashore in Tarifa. "It's a wonderful feeling to see them go back to their home," said a volunteer from Selwo Marina.
