Aibonito, Puerto Rico – A mother and her minor daughter have been formally charged with first-degree murder and violations of the Weapons Law in connection with the death of Gabriela Nicole Pratts Rosario. The charges were determined by municipal judge Valerie Telles Telles on Tuesday, following an investigation into the incident that occurred last week in Aibonito. The accused have been identified as Elvia Cabrera Rivera, 40, and her 17-year-old daughter, Anthoneishka Avilés Cabrera. Despite her age, Anthoneishka Avilés Cabrera will face legal proceedings as an adult. Both individuals were seen being transported from the police headquarters to the Court of First Instance in Aibonito, accompanied by their legal counsel, former prosecutor Zulmarie Alverio Ramos. District Attorney Ernesto Quezada Ojeda confirmed that charges for first-degree murder and weapons law violations were presented against both mother and daughter during the preliminary hearing (Regla 6).
