RENAP Introduces WhatsApp for Streamlined Document Services in Guatemala
Guatemala City, Guatemala - The National Registry of Persons (RENAP) has officially announced the implementation of a new WhatsApp number, 3063-8389, designed to enhance accessibility and efficiency for citizens seeking various document-related services. This strategic move aims to provide a direct and agile communication channel, allowing users to consult on procedures such as obtaining birth, marriage, and death certificates, among other essential civil registry documents. The initiative is a significant step in RENAP's ongoing efforts to digitalize public services, a growing demand in the current technological landscape. By offering a WhatsApp channel, the institution seeks to optimize processing times and reduce the necessity for citizens to physically visit any of its more than 340 offices distributed across the country. The new service operates from Monday to Friday, between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM, and on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This dedicated WhatsApp line complements RENAP's existing digital platforms, which have been in operation since 2015, facilitating the electronic issuance of official documents. The agency emphasizes that this new resource is part of its commitment to bringing services closer to the population and improving the overall user experience.
