Erfurt Family's Nightmare: Neighbor Harassment Escalates to Court Battle in Germany

Erfurt, Germany – A family residing in Erfurt has brought to light a distressing ordeal involving a persistent neighbor dispute that has escalated to legal action. Bojana Corce, who moved into her second-floor apartment through the agency WBG, recounts a "day and night terror" inflicted by an elderly neighbor.According to Ms. Corce, the harassment began shortly after their move. "The first day of moving, the corner sofa arrives, and the people carrying it in are already being told they can't make noise, that house rules must be respected," she stated. The neighbor's complaints quickly intensified, extending to her young child. "She came to the door to tell me to take my child to the park, that the house is not a place for playing," Ms. Corce explained, describing how her two-and-a-half-year-old son was yelled at in German.The situation worsened with frequent police calls, even for minor incidents like a baby crying during a friend's visit. "The police have been here, I'll lie if I say, surely one 20, 30 times," she claimed, noting that officers often apologized, acknowledging they couldn't intervene in such matters.The dispute culminated in a letter demanding 1,500 euros for the neighbor's medication and legal fees, alleging stress caused by Ms. Corce's family. Most recently, Ms. Corce was accused of spitting on the neighbor, resulting in a 600-euro fine from a German court without her testimony. "The German law, the German court, condemned me for hurting and insulting her because I spat on her," she asserted, denying the accusation. Ms. Corce is now appealing the decision, facing further legal costs.She expressed profound disappointment with the lack of support from authorities. "Police can do nothing, the housing agency WBG can do nothing," she lamented. "It's a constant agony, constant stress." Previous tenants of her apartment also reportedly faced similar issues with the same neighbor, leading to a high turnover in the unit. Ms. Corce hopes to clear her name in court, emphasizing, "I am not guilty."
