Fake Driver's Licenses: Jail Time Warning as 100+ Driving Schools Suspended in Philippines
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) in the Philippines has issued a stern warning: using a fake driver's license could land you in jail. This follows the suspension of over 100 driving schools suspected of colluding with fixers to issue fraudulent licenses. "We are taking a firm stance against this," stated LTO Chief Asec. Vigor Mendoza II, "Those caught will face the full force of the law." The crackdown also led to the arrest of a female suspect who allegedly created fake licenses and used PWD IDs. Police are charging her with multiple counts of falsified documents. Sec. Vince Dizon of the DOTr highlighted the growing online presence of these fixers, emphasizing the need for stronger digital security measures. The LTO’s action underscores the importance of road safety and the dangers of driving with an invalid license. The potential for accidents is a serious concern, and the LTO is committed to ensuring only qualified drivers are on the road.
