Four Men in Ride-Hailing Uniforms Arrested for Robbery Spree in Metro Manila Makati City, Philippines – In a significant development, authorities in Makati City have arrested four men suspected of conducting a series of robberies across Metro Manila. The suspects were apprehended late on May 30, 2025, in Makati City. One of the suspects was notably wearing a uniform associated with a ride-hailing app, raising concerns about potential impersonation. According to Acting Chief P/Col. Jean Dela Torre of the Makati City Police, the suspects' modus operandi involved approaching victims on motorcycles before committing the robberies. "They would approach the target, and then quickly take what they wanted," stated Dela Torre. The police recovered a grenade, a handgun, and several other items from the suspects. Further investigation revealed that the suspects have a history of similar offenses. P/MGen. Anthony Aberin, acting director of NCRPO, confirmed that the suspects are being investigated for their potential involvement in unsolved robbery cases. "We are coordinating with victims to identify these suspects in relation to previous crimes," Aberin explained. The incident underscores the importance of public safety and the need for vigilance against individuals who may impersonate legitimate service providers.
