Budapest, Hungary – In a poignant appeal for public safety, RTL news anchor Orsolya Heer has issued an urgent warning regarding child supervision at beaches and pools, following a recent tragic incident at Palatinus beach. Heer recounted a deeply personal experience from her childhood, recalling how at just eight or nine years old, she pulled a six-year-old boy from the water at Esztergom beach. It was later determined the boy likely slipped from his swimming aid while his father was briefly away at a buffet. This past weekend, a similar tragedy struck when a young girl drowned in the children's pool at Palatinus beach. Experts, in light of these incidents, are reiterating the crucial message that children must never be left unsupervised around water, even for very short periods or in shallow depths. 'It is always important to talk about this, but now that the summer holidays are starting, it is especially important to draw attention to it, because trouble can really happen in moments,' Heer stated, underscoring the swiftness with which accidents can occur. Parents and guardians are urged to maintain vigilant oversight of children to prevent further preventable tragedies.
