Urgent Water Safety Warning Issued After Child Drowns at Palatinus Beach
Budapest, Hungary – As the summer season begins, a poignant reminder about water safety has emerged following a tragic incident at Palatinus beach this past weekend. A young girl reportedly drowned in the children's pool, prompting renewed calls for vigilance from experts and public figures. Heer Orsolya, a news anchor for RTL, shared her own harrowing experience from childhood, recalling how at eight or nine years old, she pulled a six-year-old boy from the water at Esztergom beach. "He was floating under the water, and when he didn't react to my touch, I immediately pulled him to the surface," Orsolya recounted. Tragically, the boy could not be saved, and it was later believed he might have slipped out of his swim ring while his father briefly stepped away. Experts, in light of the recent Palatinus tragedy, are reiterating that children should never be left unsupervised near water, even for very short periods and in shallow pools. "It is especially important to draw attention to this now that the summer break is starting, because accidents can truly happen in moments," Orsolya emphasized. The incidents underscore the vital need for constant adult attention to prevent further tragedies during the swimming season.
