Consumer Outrage: "Japanese Mackerel" Revealed as Common Fish in Viral Belarusian Complaint
Minsk, Belarus – A recent viral video has brought attention to a consumer complaint against the Belarusian fish company RybaHit. Yaroslava Golovenko, a local resident, alleges that a product labeled "Japanese Mackerel" is, in fact, common mackerel. In her video, which has garnered significant online attention, Golovenko displays the packaging, clearly showing the "Japanese Mackerel" label and an image she claims is misleading. Upon opening the package, she reveals pieces of fish that she identifies as ordinary mackerel, not the premium product she believed she was purchasing. "They added an unreal amount of salt to try and cover up the awful taste of this mackerel," Golovenko stated emphatically, expressing her frustration. She further researched the term "Japanese Mackerel" and concluded that the company is deliberately misrepresenting the product. This incident highlights concerns about product labeling accuracy and consumer trust in the local market.
