Ghana Reinstates School Pre-Selection for 2025 BECE Candidates
Ghana's Ministry of Education announced the reinstatement of school pre-selection for students preparing for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). This policy, effective from May 27th to June 6th, requires students to choose their preferred schools. According to the Deputy Minister, "Candidates must select seven schools in total: five main choices and two alternatives." The selection process includes guidelines on the number of schools students can choose from each category (A, B, C). Teams of officers from the Ghana Education Service and Free SHS Secretariat are deployed to various regions to educate candidates, parents, and guardians about the process. This initiative aims to ensure a smoother transition for students into secondary education.
