Ghana Implements New School Selection System for 2025 BECE Ghana's 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will see a significant change in its school placement system. Candidates are now required to select seven schools in advance, five main choices and two alternative options. This new process aims to streamline the placement process and give students more control over their secondary education choices. "Candidates who wish to enter SHS must select seven schools in total," explained Benita Sena Okiti Duah, National Free SHS Coordinator, in an Onua TV interview. "Five main schools should be ranked in order of preference, and two alternatives should be selected from Appendix 3." The Ministry of Education has organized meetings and provided guidance to parents and schools to ensure a smooth transition to the new system. Deputy Minister Dr. Clement Apaak expressed confidence in the system's effectiveness, emphasizing the government's commitment to providing quality education for all Ghanaian students. The new system represents a move towards a more transparent and student-centered approach to secondary education placement in Ghana.
