Waymo Self-Driving Car Pulled Over by Police in Beverly Hills After Unusual Street Incident

Beverly Hills, CA – A Waymo self-driving vehicle experienced an unusual stop on a busy street in Beverly Hills today, culminating in an interaction with local law enforcement. The incident began when the autonomous car appeared to be stalled or navigating a complex traffic scenario. An individual from a nearby vehicle was observed exiting their car and playfully tapping the rear of the Waymo, seemingly in an attempt to prompt its movement. Shortly after, the Waymo proceeded into an intersection. A Beverly Hills Police patrol car subsequently arrived on the scene and initiated a traffic stop of the self-driving vehicle.
