Kazakhstan to Implement Summer Restrictions on Heavy Trucks to Preserve Roads
Kazakhstan to Introduce Summer Restrictions on Heavy Truck Traffic Kazakhstan's national road company, QazAvtoJol, has announced summer restrictions on the movement of heavy trucks, effective from June 1st. These restrictions, implemented in response to rising temperatures, aim to mitigate road damage caused by the intense summer heat. The restrictions will be in place in various regions of the country, with varying timeframes. "The restrictions are necessary to protect the asphalt from damage during periods of extreme heat," explained a representative from QazAvtoJol. "These measures will help to extend the lifespan of our roads and ultimately reduce the costs associated with repairs." In southern and western regions, the ban will be in effect from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily, from June 1st to August 31st. Northern and eastern regions will see similar restrictions from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, but only until August 15th. The restrictions will apply to Almaty, Atyrau, Zhambyl, Zhetysu, Karaganda, Kyzylorda, Turkestan, Mangistau, and other regions. The initiative is expected to generate considerable discussion among drivers and the public. The long-term impact of the restrictions on road conditions and transportation costs remains to be seen, but the proactive measure demonstrates a commitment to maintaining Kazakhstan's road infrastructure.
