Kuala Lumpur Police Bust Online Gambling Syndicate, Arrest 30 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – In a significant crackdown on illegal online gambling, Malaysian authorities arrested 30 individuals, including several Chinese nationals, during a raid on a suspected gambling operation in Jalan Tun Razak. The operation, conducted by the Anti-Vice, Gambling, and Secret Societies Division, resulted in the seizure of numerous computers, mobile phones, and other equipment used in the operation of the syndicate. "The syndicate was believed to have been operating for at least two months and was targeting primarily Chinese nationals," stated a Kuala Lumpur police official. The official added that the main suspect, a Chinese national, remains at large and is being actively sought by authorities. The 30 individuals detained include 23 men and seven women, ranging in age from 20 to 27. They are currently being questioned and are facing charges under the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953. The police seized 60 mobile phones, a network access card, two routers, and a mesh Wi-Fi unit. This successful raid underscores the ongoing efforts by Malaysian law enforcement to combat illegal online gambling activities and protect the public from its harmful effects.
