

Three Lorry Drivers Arrested in Melaka for Drunk Driving, Drug Use
Melaka, Malaysia - Three lorry drivers face arrest after a recent two-week police operation targeting commercial vehicle safety. The operation, which ended yesterday, resulted in 1248 summonses being issued for various traffic violations. A significant number of these summonses, 200, were issued to lorry drivers. Furthermore, 18 heavy vehicles were impounded for exceeding weight limits. "During this operation, we inspected 1248 commercial vehicles and issued 700 summonses for various offenses," stated DCP Dato' Dzulkhairi Bin Mukhtar, Melaka's Chief of Police. This statement underscores the scale of the operation and the seriousness of the traffic violations uncovered. The three drivers arrested face charges related to driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, and dangerous driving.
