Malaysian Police Crack Down on Drunk and Drugged Drivers in Two-Week Operation A special operation targeting drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs in Malaysia concluded with significant results. The operation, which ran from May 14th to May 28th, 2025, resulted in numerous arrests and the issuance of hundreds of traffic citations. The initiative focused on commercial vehicles, with over 1,000 inspected. Police Chief Datuk Zul Khairi Mukhtar stated, "A young man was arrested for riding his motorcycle dangerously." The operation highlighted the ongoing commitment to improving road safety in the country. Authorities issued 700 summonses for various traffic offences, with 200 related to lorry drivers. Fourteen lorries were also impounded for exceeding weight limits. This comprehensive operation demonstrates a proactive approach to reducing accidents caused by impaired driving.
