RM32 Million in Luxury Assets Seized from Malaysian Tan Sri in MACC Raid
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – In a dramatic turn of events, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has seized luxury assets totaling RM32 million from a prominent Malaysian businessman, Tan Sri. The MACC investigation, launched following allegations of false claims and misuse of loan bonds in a Klang Valley highway project, has uncovered a trove of luxury items. These include an array of high-end jewelry, a collection of luxury watches estimated to be worth over RM1 million, and several luxury vehicles, including Bentleys, Mercedes-Benzes, and Range Rovers, valued at approximately RM7 million. In addition, a significant amount of luxury alcohol was discovered. "The scale of the seizure is unprecedented," said a source close to the investigation, requesting anonymity. "It highlights the extent of the alleged financial crimes." The MACC’s raid on two of the Tan Sri’s residences yielded the impressive collection of assets. All items have been seized under the MACC Act 2009 and the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001. The investigation is ongoing.
