Perlis Police Seize RM13 Million Worth of Syabu in Major Drug Bust PADANG BESAR, PERLIS – In a significant victory against drug trafficking, Perlis police have announced the seizure of 365 kilograms of syabu, estimated to be worth RM13.14 million. The bust follows the arrest of a 40-year-old local man in Kampung Belat Batu, Beseri, Padang Besar on June 1st, 2025. "The arrest and seizure are a direct result of our ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in Perlis," stated Datuk Muhammad Abdul Halim, Chief of Perlis Police, during a press conference. "The suspect was apprehended while attempting to transport the drugs through a known smuggling route in the area's forests." The drugs, packaged in 17 bundles, were found concealed within a vehicle near the suspect's residence. Police also revealed the suspect has a history of drug-related offenses and tested positive for methamphetamine. The successful operation underscores the commitment of Perlis police to disrupting drug trafficking networks and protecting the community. The suspect is being held for further investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
