Father Dies in Tragic Car Crash After Picking Up Daughter From University

A Father's Life Cut Short: Fatal Accident After University Pickup in Pahang Lipis, Pahang – In a tragic turn of events, a father lost his life in a car accident on June 5, 2025, at approximately 7 PM. The accident occurred on Kilometer 30 of Jalan Lingkaran Tengah Utama (LTU) in Lipis, after the man had picked up his daughter from Universiti Geomatika Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur. The victim, identified as Mohamad Ruzi Mohamad Yusof, 56, was traveling to Tanah Merah, Kelantan, when the accident occurred. According to Lipis District Police Chief Superintendent Ismail Mat, "The driver is believed to have lost control of the vehicle before colliding with the barriers on the left and right sides of the road, causing the car to plunge into a ditch." His daughter, 19, sustained only minor injuries and was transported to Kuala Lipis Hospital. The incident serves as a somber reminder of the importance of road safety. The police investigation continues under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
