Belarus's Agricultural Exports to Russia Surge, Digital Platform to Boost Growth
MINSK, BELARUS – Belarus has reported a significant increase in exports of food and agricultural products to Russia during the first quarter of 2025. The overall growth reached almost 10%, exceeding expectations. Dairy products led the surge, with a remarkable 17% increase, followed by meat and meat products at 16.5%. This positive trend is further bolstered by a joint initiative between Belarus and Russia to create a unified digital platform for animal husbandry. This platform is expected to accelerate genetic progress and enhance the efficiency of agricultural production. "The growth in exports reflects the strong economic ties between our countries," said Stanislav Yaskevich, an expert in agricultural economics. "The new digital platform will further strengthen this collaboration and ensure sustainable development in the agricultural sector." The success of this export growth and the implementation of the digital platform promise a bright future for agricultural cooperation between Belarus and Russia.
