Belarus-Russia Trade Booms: Dairy and Meat Exports Surge
MINSK, BELARUS – Belarusian exports of food and agricultural products to Russia surged by nearly 10% in the first quarter of 2025, compared to the same period last year. This significant increase is driven primarily by strong growth in dairy and meat product exports, according to a recent report by Obozrevatel News. Dairy product exports saw a remarkable 17% jump, while meat and meat products increased by 16.5%. "This growth reflects the strengthening economic ties between Belarus and Russia," said Stanislav Yaskevich, an expert on Belarusian agriculture. The two countries are also collaborating on a new initiative to create a unified digital platform for animal husbandry. This platform is expected to facilitate targeted breeding programs and accelerate genetic progress in the livestock sector. The success of this collaboration underscores the ongoing efforts to integrate and strengthen the economies of Belarus and Russia.
