Shocking Video Shows Escape of Tortured Crypto Millionaire New York City - A shocking video has emerged showing the escape of an Italian cryptocurrency millionaire who was allegedly held captive and tortured for two weeks in a luxurious SoHo townhouse. The video, obtained by WNBC, shows the victim, identified only as Michael Valentino Teofrasto Carturan, running barefoot and flagging down an NYPD officer for help. Police have charged John Woeltz with kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, assault, and weapons possession in connection with the incident. Woeltz was arrested on May 23rd. His alleged accomplice, William Duplessie, surrendered to authorities on May 27th. Police also arrested Woeltz's assistant, Beatrice Folchi, but she was later released when prosecutors declined to file charges. In an interview outside the courthouse, Folchi stated, "I'm not arrested." When pressed further, she added, "Everything is going to be told, but with a lawyer, I can't make any comments right now." The incident highlights concerns about security in the cryptocurrency industry. Former FBI agent Rob D'Amico told Today that the crypto industry needs to adopt stronger safeguards similar to those used in traditional banking. The video's release serves as a stark reminder of the risks involved in the world of digital finance.
