Ordabasy District Celebrates Para Powerlifting Bronze Medalist ORDABASY, Kazakhstan – In a ceremony held on June 3, 2025, Azat Oralbayev, the akim (mayor) of Ordabasy district, honored local para powerlifting athlete Mukhtar Kalmenov for his recent success. Kalmenov won bronze medals at both the World Cup and Asian Championship in Almaty earlier this year. "Your achievements at the world level are a result of hard work and patriotism," Oralbayev said during the ceremony. "Your victory is an example for the younger generation and pride for the country." Kalmenov, a resident of Temirlan village, began his athletic journey after completing his education as a programmer-technician. He is currently involved in community work at the district library. His impressive career includes multiple Kazakhstan championships and a bronze medal at the 2023 World Championship in the UK. The district's recognition of his accomplishments underscores the importance of supporting local athletes and celebrating their contributions to national pride.
