Nuevo León's 24/7 Customs Plan: Housing Complex Inaugurated at Colombia-Laredo
Nuevo León Governor Inaugurates Housing Complex at Colombia-Laredo Border Crossing A new housing complex designed to improve the quality of life for workers and boost international trade has been inaugurated at the Colombia-Laredo border crossing in Nuevo León, Mexico. The project, overseen by Governor Samuel García, is a key step in the state's plan to operate the customs area continuously, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The complex, which is unique in its scale among Mexican customs facilities, currently consists of two buildings with a combined capacity of 320 people. Each building provides essential amenities, including parking, air conditioning, laundry facilities, and separate restrooms for men and women. Governor García stated during the inauguration ceremony, "This action seeks to significantly improve the quality of life for workers, which in turn will translate into greater operational efficiency and an increase in international trade volume." The complex's design also allows for future expansion. The land is planned to accommodate up to ten buildings, potentially housing 1600 people. This forward-thinking approach demonstrates Nuevo León's commitment to strengthening its logistical and economic development in the northern region. The initiative makes the Colombia-Laredo border crossing a more competitive and efficient hub for international commerce.
