Chania, Greece – Authorities in Chania have arrested a 42-year-old man after discovering a substantial arsenal of weapons at his residence. The arrest followed an investigation prompted by a video the suspect posted on social media, in which he allegedly threatened police officers in the city. During the search of his home, law enforcement officials reportedly found a wide array of dangerous items, including swords, axes, bows, various types of knives—totaling 117—as well as magazines and batons. Sources indicate that the man's social media profile frequently featured images of him posing with weapons and even kissing knives. He was also noted for sharing quotes from ancient philosophers in his posts. The video that led to his apprehension reportedly showed the man pointing towards a specific location in Chania where police officers were gathered, stating that he would "fire a burst and shoot them" because "this is what they need." The police acted swiftly upon this threat, leading to the discovery of the extensive weapon collection and the subsequent arrest. The investigation is ongoing.
