A Northern Virginia shopper used TikTok to call out a Giant Food store after she said an employee dismissed her concerns about spoiled meat.
On Sunday, September 21, 2025, a customer at the Giant grocery store located at 3480 S Jefferson St., Falls Church, VA 22041, reported a significant food safety concern. The customer, who later identified herself as Luna Del Mars, discovered several packages of ground meat in the refrigeration aisle that appeared 'puffed up,' a common indicator of bacterial growth and spoilage. She promptly brought this to the attention of a store employee, who, according to the customer, responded with dismissive remarks, questioning if she had 'nothing better to do' and initially refusing to address the issue or call a supervisor, even after being shown online information about food spoilage. The customer began recording the interaction, documenting the puffed meat packages and the employee's reaction. Eventually, a manager, identified as Frank Andrews, along with another employee, Jorge Correa, intervened and began removing the affected meat from the shelves. Luna Del Mars stated her intention to contact the health department regarding the incident, emphasizing the potential public health risk. The video has since been posted online, drawing attention to food safety standards and customer service in grocery retail.
