

Two Arrested After Unarmed Group Robbery in Lahad Datu
LAHAD DATU, MALAYSIA - May 27, 2025 - In a swift response to a reported group robbery, Lahad Datu police have apprehended two suspects involved in an incident that left a 35-year-old businessman injured. The robbery took place on Monday, May 26th, in Kampung Binuang. According to Deputy Police Chief Superintendent Jimmy Panyau, "Based on initial investigations, the robbery occurred around 6:00 AM. The suspects, along with accomplices, assaulted the victim before fleeing on his motorcycle." The victim sustained injuries to his chest, shoulder, and hand. Both suspects were apprehended during raids on Monday night and early Tuesday morning. One of the suspects has a prior drug-related record. Police are pursuing the investigation under Section 395 of the Penal Code, and a remand application will be made to facilitate further investigations.
