

Malaysia's Energy Commission Destroys RM1.7 Million in Seized Goods in Eco-Friendly Manner
PUTRAJAYA, June 4, 2025 - Malaysia's Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) took a significant step towards environmental responsibility by disposing of 2,933 seized items, totaling over RM1.7 million, in an eco-friendly manner. The items, confiscated from 21 investigations across Perlis, Kedah, and Penang, were disposed of at a licensed metal recycling center in Balakong, Selangor. "This environmentally conscious disposal reflects ST's ongoing commitment to upholding the law and safeguarding our environment," said Ismail Zaili Yusof, Director of Enforcement and Operations at ST. The operation followed directives under Sections 406A and 413 of the Criminal Procedure Code (Act 593). The ST collaborated with a licensed company to ensure the disposal met the requirements of the Environmental Quality Act 1974 and the Scheduled Wastes Regulations 2005. This action highlights ST's dedication to comprehensive and sustainable law enforcement.
