114 Undocumented Workers Detained in Johor Immigration Raid
Johor Immigration Department launched a major operation on May 30, 2025, resulting in the arrest of 114 undocumented foreign workers across five districts. Nine factories were implicated in employing these individuals without proper documentation. According to Johor Immigration Director Datuk Mohamad Rusdi Mohamad Darus, "Nine factories were raided as part of Operation Gempor Sasaran Gelombang Kedua." Four local employers, aged between 50 and 60, were also detained for their roles in facilitating this illegal employment. The operation underscores the ongoing efforts to maintain immigration regulations and combat illegal labor practices in the region. The detainees, aged 21 to 55, are facing charges under Section 56(1)(c) and Section 55E of the Immigration Act 1959/63. This successful operation serves as a strong message against those who exploit undocumented workers and undermine the integrity of Malaysia's immigration system.
