
83 Undocumented Migrants Apprehended in Shah Alam Warehouse Raids
Selangor Immigration Department Cracks Down on Undocumented Migrants in Shah Alam Shah Alam, Malaysia - In a significant operation targeting undocumented migrants, the Selangor Immigration Department apprehended 83 individuals during a raid on two warehouses in Section 27, Shah Alam, on May 28, 2025. The operation, which lasted from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, involved the inspection of 150 individuals. Among those arrested were 68 from Myanmar (including five women), 10 from Bangladesh, and five from Pakistan. A 48-year-old local man, the warehouse manager, was also taken into custody. "All those detained, aged 22 to 50, are being held for various immigration offenses," stated Khairul Amin Kamaruddin, director of the Selangor Immigration Department. These offenses include lacking proper documentation, overstaying visas, and violating immigration laws. The detainees will be transferred to the Semenyih Immigration Depot for further investigation and action, in accordance with the Immigration Act 1959/63, the Passport Act 1966, and related regulations. The department continues its commitment to enforcing immigration laws and urges the public to cooperate by refraining from harboring undocumented migrants. The successful operation serves as a strong message against illegal immigration and underscores the ongoing efforts to maintain order and security.
