Ghana Data Prices Hike: New Rates for AirtelTigo, MTN, and Ghana Telecom
Ghana's Data Prices Increase: AirtelTigo, Ghana Telecom, and MTN Announce New Rates Ghana's Minister of Communications announced a price increase for mobile data services across the country's major networks, effective July 1st, 2025. The increases, ranging from 10% to 15%, impact various data bundles offered by AirtelTigo, Ghana Telecom, and MTN. The minister stated, "...these increases are going to come at considerable cost to the network operators." AirtelTigo's 400 Ghana cedi bundle, previously offering 195 GB, will now provide 236 GB. Similarly, MTN's 400 Ghana cedi bundle, which currently offers 90 GB, will be increased to 250 GB. The 399 Ghana cedi bundle, previously offering 92.88 GB, will be reinstated at 214 GB. The minister expressed his satisfaction with the negotiations and the resulting agreement. The changes are expected to affect millions of Ghanaians, but the increased data allowances offer some offset to the price increases.
