Ghanaian Telcos Increase Data Bundles by 10-15%
Ghanaian Telcos Boost Data Bundles: A Government-Led Initiative Ghana's Ministry of Communications has announced a substantial increase in data bundles across major telecommunication networks. This initiative, spearheaded by Hon. Samuel Nartey George, aims to improve digital access for citizens. MTN Ghana, for example, will increase its data bundles by 15%, meaning a GHS399 bundle will jump from 92GB to 214GB. Similarly, Telecel Ghana and AirtelTigo Ghana are implementing a 10% increase across their data offerings. "This is a significant step towards ensuring affordable and accessible internet for all Ghanaians," said Hon. George in a statement accompanying the announcement. The increase in data allowances is expected to benefit millions of Ghanaians, particularly those who rely heavily on mobile internet for communication, education, and business. This move reflects the government's commitment to bridging the digital divide and fostering economic growth through enhanced digital connectivity. The positive impact on the daily lives of ordinary Ghanaians is expected to be substantial, and this initiative sets a positive precedent for other African nations.
