
Ghana Boosts Mobile Data: AirtelTigo, Telecel, and MTN Announce Major Increases
Ghanaian Mobile Data Bundles to Receive Significant Boost Ghana's telecommunications landscape is set for a major upgrade, as announced by Hon. Sam George. Effective July 1st, 2025, AirtelTigo and Telecel will increase their data bundle offerings by 10%, while MTN will offer a 15% increase. This news follows months of negotiations between the government and network operators. "These increases are going to come at a considerable cost to the network operators," stated Hon. Sam George during a press conference. "However, I am glad that our engagements and consultations are bearing fruit for the Ghanaian people." The changes will particularly impact the popular data bundles. The 400 GHS bundle, currently offering 195GB, will be increased to 236GB. Similarly, the 399 GHS bundle's data allowance will jump from 90GB to 214GB. The implementation date of July 1st will allow networks to recalibrate their systems to reflect these changes. This initiative is a positive step towards enhancing digital infrastructure and services in Ghana, improving access to data for the nation's citizens.
