MMDA Reports Sharp Drop in Traffic Violations After NCAP Reimplementation
Metro Manila's MMDA reports a significant drop in traffic violations following the reimplementation of the No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP). On the first day alone, 1,112 violations were recorded, a number considerably lower than the over 3,000 violations observed before the NCAP's return. MMDA spokesperson, [insert name and title if available], stated, "We've seen a positive response overall. However, we still have a long way to go." Common violations included disregarding traffic lines and signs, unauthorized use of bus lanes, and improper use of motorcycle lanes. The MMDA is actively monitoring CCTV footage to catch offenders. Looking ahead, a month-long dry run for the odd-even number scheme on Edsa will commence on June 16th, aiming to further improve traffic flow and reduce congestion. The MMDA's commitment to enforcing traffic rules and improving road safety is evident in these efforts.
