MINSK, Belarus – A recent visitor to the 'Belorusochka' sanatorium has publicly reported an alarming incident involving unsanitary conditions and alleged violations of consumer rights. The individual, who had booked a luxury room with a jacuzzi for 800 Belarusian Rubles for a two-night spa weekend, described a disturbing discovery when attempting to use the in-room jacuzzi. According to the visitor, upon activating the jacuzzi, the water that filled the tub was not clean, but rather a murky brown, resembling deposits from pipes. "All the water filled with some brown, unclear substance, very similar to feces, but upon closer inspection, it looks like deposits from the pipes," she stated in her video. Following this discovery, the visitor attempted to file a formal complaint. However, she was reportedly denied access to the complaint book by the sanatorium administration. She was informed that it was a weekend, and the complaint book was stored in a safe, making it unavailable. "They told me that today is a day off, the administration is not on site, the complaint book is stored somewhere in a safe, and they cannot provide it to me," she explained, adding that this constitutes a legal violation in Belarus. She has since stated her intention to formally address the administration of 'Belorusochka' sanatorium and the Republican Center for Health and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population regarding the unsanitary conditions and the refusal to provide the complaint book. This incident raises questions about service quality and adherence to consumer protection laws within the Belarusian sanatorium sector.
