PAGASA Monitors LPA East of Catanduanes; Typhoon Potential
A Low Pressure Area (LPA) is being monitored by PAGASA, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, located approximately 195 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes. The LPA has the potential to develop into a typhoon in the coming days, according to PAGASA. Areas expected to be affected include Aurora, Quezon, the Bicol Region, Central Visayas, and Eastern Visayas. The Southwest Monsoon is also bringing rain to Metro Manila and surrounding provinces. "Residents in low-lying areas should take precautions," a PAGASA forecaster stated. The agency continues to monitor the LPA and will provide updates as the situation develops. PAGASA urges residents to stay informed and prepare for potential heavy rainfall and strong winds.
