Gerik Drug Bust: RM4.6 Million Worth of Drugs Seized Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) made a significant drug bust in Gerik, Perak, on Friday, seizing over 120 kilograms of drugs valued at RM4.6 million. The drugs were discovered in a sport utility vehicle (SUV) abandoned near the Taman Pulai Savana plant. Perak Police Chief Datuk Noor Hisam said, "This is one of the largest seizures in Perak this year." The confiscated drugs, primarily methamphetamine, were packaged in 82 packets of crystal methamphetamine and 39 packets of ketamine, totaling approximately 120kg. The police chief also stated that the drugs were intended for distribution in Perak and neighboring states, potentially reaching 350,000 drug users. The case is under investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. The discovery highlights the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in Malaysia and underscores the commitment of the PDRM in disrupting criminal networks.
